Install Meshtastic or MeshCore firmware and recover devices after failed updates.

How do I update the Meshtastic firmware on my N30, N32, N33, or N35?​

Applicable models: N30, N32, N32 Plus, N33, N35, N35 Plus

  1. Connect your device to a computer using a USB data cable.

  2. Open the official Meshtastic Web Flasher using Chrome or Edge.

  3. Select the firmware target that matches your actual hardware version.

  4. Choose the firmware version and follow the on-screen instructions.

  5. Wait for the installation to finish before disconnecting the device.

N30, N32, and N33 use Heltec V3 hardware. N35 is available with Heltec V3 or V4 hardware, so make sure you select the correct version.

Back up important configuration and channel information before performing a full flash erase.

For the N37 with an OLED display, select the firmware target for 鈥淪eeed Wio Tracker L1鈥?

For the N37E with an E-Ink display, select 鈥淪eeed Wio Tracker L1 E-Ink鈥?

Follow the official instructions to enter DFU mode and install the appropriate UF2 firmware file.

Do not install OLED firmware on an E-Ink device or vice versa.

Applicable models: N39

The N39 uses the Heltec WiFi LoRa 32 V4 hardware platform.

Connect the device to your computer using a USB data cable and open the Meshtastic Web Flasher.

Select the appropriate Heltec V4 firmware target and follow the installation instructions.

After updating, restart the device, connect it to the Meshtastic app, and check that LoRa communication and GPS positioning are working correctly.

Do not install Heltec V3 firmware on the N39.

MeshCore firmware is available for various LoRa hardware platforms, including selected Heltec and Seeed devices.

Before switching, check whether a compatible firmware build is available for your exact board and display configuration.

Use the official MeshCore flashing tool to select your device and the appropriate firmware role.

Meshtastic and MeshCore are separate firmware ecosystems. Switching between them replaces the installed firmware, and your previous configuration may not be retained.

MeshCore firmware is available for the Seeed Wio Tracker L1 E-Ink platform. However, display compatibility may vary between firmware versions.

Some users have reported inverted displays, white screens, or missing menu options after installing certain MeshCore builds.

Before updating, confirm that the firmware specifically supports your N37E hardware and display configuration.

If the display becomes unusable, restore a compatible Meshtastic firmware version using the Seeed Wio Tracker L1 E-Ink firmware target.

First, identify your exact hardware model and the correct firmware target.

For N37 and N37E, enter DFU mode and reinstall the correct firmware following the Seeed Wio Tracker L1 instructions.

Other hardware platforms may require different recovery procedures.

Do not install firmware intended for a different board or display type. If the device remains unresponsive, contact technical support before attempting advanced recovery procedures.
