Does the Meshnology N39 have GPS?

Applicable models: N39

Yes. The Meshnology N39 is equipped with GPS functionality and is based on the Heltec WiFi LoRa 32 V4 platform.

With compatible firmware and proper configuration, the N39 can obtain location information and share its position with other nodes over a Meshtastic network.

GPS reception depends on satellite visibility and environmental conditions. For better positioning performance, use the device in an open outdoor area.

Can the N37, N37E, and N39 provide GPS tracking without cellular service?

Applicable models: N37, N37E, N39

Yes. All three models support GPS positioning without requiring cellular service or an internet connection.

When configured with compatible Meshtastic firmware, they can share location information with other nodes through LoRa communication.

To view another device鈥檚 position remotely, a functioning radio connection must be available, either directly or through compatible mesh nodes.

GPS positioning and LoRa communication are separate functions. Obtaining a GPS fix does not automatically guarantee that another node can receive the location information.
